Eerder las ik al Een magische ontmoeting, bekend van de Netflix-serie. Dat boek gaf ik destijds drie sterren, ik hoopte dat ik de prequel beter zou vinden, maar helaas. The Fairies in Fate: The Winx Saga have no wings. Though at the end of season one, Bloom gained wings. I have to admit that I'm not entirely sure if this prequel really added much, apart from getting to know the characters a little better. This is a prequel, but it's not set that long before the first season. We basically see how the characters are moving towards the starting point of the first season and since we already know how things are gonna end and already know what's waiting for our characters, there aren't many surprises there.

Como punto negativo debo mencionar que el resto de personajes como ser Beatrix, Sam o Dane aparecen brevemente en ciertos puntos de la historia, y su aportación dentro de la trama es ciertamente escaza.
