About this deal

After that I decided to try and build some patches myself and imported some that I found in a Facebook group.

And the updates are once/twice a year and pretty significant since they brought on the team that used to work for Digitech. Not to say that it doesn't work perfectly to get someone else's sound, it just wasn't subtle enough for me, much like the actual Dynacomp. Personally, I've a hard time to understand the choices made by the NUX team when it comes to output modes and pre/post EQing. Change the CAB TYPE to your preference- can also load a third party CAB IR, will have a large impact on achieving desired tone. The result is an amazing 2 DSPs driving the TSAC-HD (True Simulation for Analog Circuit) technology which allows to recreate and model the analog sounds and interactions of physical components. The built-in drum machine is handy but it doesn't really function that well beyond being "a slightly more interesting sounding metronome".

I share below a pic showing how to set the parametric EQ to obtain a flat frequency response from the MG-30 in STUDIO DIRECT output mode.FOOTNOTE: I've found useful to put the S/R loop after FX's, just before amp sim / IR's, then to use the "Send" plug as the output of a basic pedalboard. Bought it as a cheap "traveling rig" with no high expectations, but it turned out being quite awesome.

It as a lot of potential but you need to be willing to invest some time into building patches or finding other ppls patches to import. It's intentionnal: it allows to avoid any inconsistency due to the position of the physical volume knob on the MG30 (more accessible to clumsy feet on stage than a "lateral" / perpendicular pot would be and. You can get closer if you use some previous reference presets, if you make your presets mono (with headphones, too) and if you use backing tracks, but anyway at the end you may want to consider to handle two separate set of presets: one for headphones (with glorious stereo, bassy and ultra-distorted sounds) and one for band context (monoaural, less gainy, with a lot of mids, etc.I think some of the models can be a bit processor hungry on the stomp leading to possible compromises but I’m sure it can do most anything you need with some judicious editing . An effects loop allows you to integrate your favorite effects pedals into your signal chain with ease and choose their position in the sound chain. The goal was to see if it had enough power on tap to reproduce a line level output when fed by a padded signal. Included in the collection are: 25 electric guitar amp models, 2 acoustic amp models, 3 bass amp models.
